3am (ssshhh, don't tell anybody!)

Well, I just sent off my first article for Scrapbooks etc.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I proposed an idea and it was accepted and slated for October---basically I just wrote the text and conceptualized the article.  Oh, I did two of the projects also.  I've been working with the fabulous Tracy Kyle (she's one of my all time favorite scrappers!!!) to get everything together.  Of course I can't really reveal anything about the article, I will say that its different and fresh...I think you'll like it!  This has been a goal of mine...to do some more writing.  I did several articles for PaperKuts--and I really enjoy the process.  So look for my piece in the techniques section of Scrapbooks etc...coming in October!

Oh and for the record...I turned my work in two days early!!  Its a MIRACLE!!  (says me...the procrastinator).  Sure feels good to check something off of my very long to-do list.

Speaking of writing...I have sure been pondering my life lately.  In all of my spare time :)  For the last few years I said I was going to finish my degree (after Abby started school--well, then, I had Cash and I've been so busy with everything else).  I've wanted to get my bachelors in graphic design...but I worry that there's not much opportunity for me where I live with that degree.  So, I've been thinking about English.  I love to write.  It makes sense.  I've applied to the college and looked into financial aid...wouldn't that be nice!  I have taken the baby steps toward this goal.  I know that I would feel a huge sense of accomplishment if I finished college.  We'll see.  I've said before that I've learned my lesson on making plans.  I figure the good Lord will show me which path to take all in good time.  It sure would be great if he used big signs like the highway department ... GO TO COLLEGE NOW.

Well, its almost 3 am.  Better get in bed, I suppose.  Even though I'm really not tired.  Mr. Cash-man will be calling in a couple of hours!

Have a great rest of the week...jw

Just a quick post

The last few days have been SO busy.  I have had lots of work to do plus the normal life stuff- ball games, school functions, etc.  I got to take it easy a bit today--meaning I "got" to clean house and catch up all the things that are behind.  Cash & I went down to Scott's shop and had lunch with the guys.  But most importantly ---today, the top of my to do list:

GO TO THE POST OFFICE.

So, thats what I'm fixin' to do.  Get all my boxes (prizes and kits...YAY!!) in order and drop em' at the PO.  I don't know why I have this LOVE/HATE relationship with the post office?  I LOVE getting mail!  I love packages!  I just hate to go in the PO.  I always feel like I'm forgetting something when I come out empty handed...hee hee!!

I better get up and JUST DO IT!

Its a beautiful day--blessings to all

Scrap Happy's FUN!

Img_0008 Angie and I had a great time Saturday in Tulsa...she rode with me (what a good friend) and she likes to hit some of her favorite stores for some shopping while I'm working!  We get to eat & shop at some of our favorite places while in Tulsa--what a fringe benefit to teaching out there!

Had some very lovely ladies in class.  It was such a nice time.  Scrap Happy's ROCKS by the way!!  I could spend a whole weekend in there looking around!  They have EVERYTHING!!!  I'm really so fortunate to be able to teach there.  I'm scheduled to go back next month, just have to get my dates firmed up.

SO when I was putting kits together last week, I found that putting embellishments in martini glasses made for easy retrieval.  And looked yummy too!  So, I had to take a picture--the glass is sitting on the Fanci*ful paper...thought I would share this just for fun!

Box_side_1a_2 Hello Hello!  I mentioned I would share the project I created for my Mother for Mom's Day...well, here it is!  I had this brainstorm that I could create a box from the 8 x 8 Decor Boardz and well, it worked!!  It was a fun little projects and I scrapped each side with our family pictures from Easter (I have two brothers and one sister, so that worked out perfect).  I thought my my could stash something crafty in it?

So if you haven't left your name on the blog just under this one, you better throw it in the hat...I'm still working on purging and so far I have some pretty good stuff to send out to some lucky winners.  I will have to pick a couple of local names for those items that are too big to ship (I am a lazy package shipper, sorry! :) So you might mention if you are local--if I don't know you personally already.

Gotta share one more fun thing...this card!

Girlfriend_card

I LOVE this card...I was inspired by one of my favorite scrappers, Jennifer Maguire, to create this card.  She is so original--always love her ideas.  This card is a sample from my class this weekend at Scrap Happy's...Inspired By: Clear Things.  I'm so excited to get back and see the gang from Scrap Happy's--in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  They are a great bunch of gals.

Well, I'm not even going to admit to what time it is.  I guess you can look and see, but I would rather not know!  Its too late to be blogging!! I better go catch some rest before Cash decides its time to have a mid-night snack!  Have a great Wednesday! ;) jw

Happy Mother's Day & Prizes

Hope you had a relaxing Mother's Day.

Today was a nice leisurely day.  I enjoyed myself.  I wanted to get up earlier, but I slept till about 8.  Fixed the kiddos some pancakes.  I let Scott sleep cause he fished till late last night.  Everybody finally got motivated and we slowly but surely made it to church.  Our church always does something nice for the Mothers...we got a rose and a cute package of goodies.  Its such a thoughtful gesture.

Sara gave us the coolest book--its written and illustrated by her.  She is truly a talented artist if I do say so.  Abby brought me a beautiful pot of flowers.  I also got two mugs and concrete stepping stones with their handprints, that they made at church.   Lots of good things.  I'm a lucky Momma!

I made my own Mom a book with all our (my siblings and grandkids) pictures in it and a really funky box out of the Decor Boardz.  She loves little things that she can put in her purse and show off.  I'll post some pictures of her goodies later in the week.

Now, about those prizes!  I have been busy cleaning out my scrap room--as I mentioned a few days ago.  I've got a tub full of stuff I need to find a home for.  I'm going to go to the PO tomorrow and get some boxes to pack it up in.  All you have to do is leave a comment on this post with your name if you'd like to win!!  Tell your friends too.  I'll post the winners names by Friday!!

I've been working on my email list...if you're not already a part of my email list, please contact me to be added!  Thanks! jw

Bonus Project

Bonus_project Just had to share this simple little project from Saturday's class at Just4Keeps...it's created with the Chipboard Alphabetz in my line.  Add some pretty paper (I used Anna Griffin on this one), ribbon, tag and painted chipboard initial--and voila!  A fun thing to package notecards, gifts or treats!  Oh yeah, and this awesome thing holds your chipboard abc's at bay till you're ready to jazz it up!

What a great time in Edmond...

Wow...Holly and I had a super time in OK this last weekend!  We set out Friday evening and chatted ourselves right through that three hour drive.  We stayed the night and vegged out with snacks and watched What Not to Wear...which was a treat for me since we don't have good cable...lol!  I would be a total couch potato if we did--so would my girls!

The next morning we went to one of our favorite places, Mimi's Cafe for brunch.  It was so nice to have a leisurely morning and a great meal.  We had just enough extra time to dash into a store to do some fast shopping.  I LOVE bargains!

Then we headed over to Just 4 Keeps and set up for classes.  I think I some of the most pleasant ladies ever in my classes.  They really have a great thing going on there.  Kathy and Jennifer (the owners) are special gals and their crew of help is top notch!  I knew several of them from the previous trips I'd made to Edmond...but got to meet new friends too!  I FINALLY got to meet my long lost buddy, Kelly Morris.  What a fun girl...we are so much alike!  Found out she, too, is a perfectionist!

Holly was a lifesaver, as usual, helping me with setting up classes.  I am so thankful for her help.  I don't think I could do it alone.

We had a great dinner with Patti and Tanya after we left at PEI WEI--one of our other favorite places to eat!  YUM!  Those girls are a hoot and love to scrapbook!  I love seeing people so excited about scrapping--but I think the funnest part is just getting together and crafting with friends and people that you love.  The hobby is just such a wonderful way to connect--I was telling Holly that on the way home.  I just enjoy meeting people and making new friends so much.  Its so amazing.

Well, I've got to get busy...too much to do today.  Peace out--jw
