Today I must...
these are just some things I have been putting off...and it is getting out of hand!! So, this will help me be accountable, right?
In other news...the Scarlet Lime is official. Check out the beautiful debut kit on the site. Christy has such a talent with putting together the unexpected and creating fabulous*ness!!
So I better tackle my to do list.
Gotta go--happy day to YOU!

Took my Mother to get new specs today...and spent a bit of time at the mall while waiting around on LensCrafters. Went to the bookstore--founds some bargain books of interest. I'm not a reader (can you believe that I like picture books : ). But I have been advised by friend Holly that I should read some of Jane Austen's work...found a book with her five novels all in one for like $8. Seemed like a deal! The problem with me reading is that when I start something, I just don't want to stop!! So its hard to put down a good book, ya know?
Speaking of books...I REALLY want this book by Amy Karol. I think I might just go order it when I'm done here.
Ooohhh...I'm mean! Here's a sneak peek of what I've been working on. You'll have to check it out at the Fiskars site sometime in September. Its quite fun!
The girls both stayed the night with friends so, tonight I sewed. I finished another project that started off something like this...
I mentioned it yesterday...oh my goodness I just LOVE these fabrics!! Shangri La by 3 Sisters for Moda. Imagine this with a chocolate brown crushed velvet...mmmmmm!!! Yummy, chocolate!!
Tomorrow afternoon, my Mom and I are going to spend some time working on our sewing projects. She is quilting Cash the CUTEST little quilt...all by hand. Its turned out so nice. She's really into quilting and has tried to persuade me to jump in, but I've been kind of hesitant. Truthfully, very few of the older style quilt patterns do a thing for me. I just love a patchwork quilt. Just simple. I love a mix of textures too...texture just adds so much.
Well, I s'pose I better get in bed. Party at my house in the a.m. and my sewing stuff is strung out everywhere!! Gotta get up early and clean house. yuck.
Have a great weekend...God Bless y'all!
Well, I did some sewing yesterday. Fun Fun!! I can't share my project just yet but lets just say it involves the prettiest lime green wool felt, seed beads, hot pink thread & some blanket stitching (which I just learned how to do!), a little embroidery...SO CUTE!!! I'm dying to post a picture. Maybe I'll just have to make another (similar) one that I can show??? Hmmm? Wonder if I have time to do that tomorrow??
I've been collecting boxes for my MOVE...not sure what to pack first. Hmm? I guess I could start with books, dishes (that we don't use), the girls' craft closet--I really can't digest the thought of actually moving. We've lived in this house for five and a half years. I bet we have twice as much stuff as we came here with--at least. Scary! And sad.
Abby had her first birthday on the patio here.
Sara broke her arm three years ago in the backyard here.
Cash came home to here.
We've made a lot of memories here...it will be a sad day to leave this home.
On a happy note! Of course I've been thinking about what color I'm going to paint my craft/scrap room...I think I have to go with the blue...you can see the color here in the girls NOW room.
I just LOVE this color!! Its a Ralph Lauren color called Faded Seafoam--just so light and airy and happy. I think I got the inpiration for this from Candice--I think she painted her scraproom this color in her new house a while back. Good color. My bedroom is going to be this color too! This is what my room looks like now...I'm kinda tired of the green. (It looks kinda pea green in the pic...its not really).
The house we're buying has lots of lovely paneling. So we are formulating a plan to overhaul the paneled look. Abby is not impressed with her would-be room all decked out with paneled walls. She doesn't think it looks like a princess room at all! LOL!
Sew, back to sewing! I ordered some of my favorite fabric to make Sara a quilt (and other things) for her new room. Of course, its Fresh Cut! Mmmm, mmm, MMMM! Love that stuff! Also bought some more of Shangri La by 3 Sisters/Moda. Making somepillows for my couch with it. Isn't it RICH and just beautiful? I think I have just about exhausted my Pay Pal account for now. NO MORE EBAY for me...this week :)
Isn't it sad that you can't really sew things for much cheaper than you could go and buy them. I was telling Scott the other night...that its really just a matter of design and preference with sewing these days rather than doing it out of neccessity. Kinda sad. But I suppose I am glad that we don't have to trade furs for Calico and sit up by the candlelight to work and make our own dresses after all of the other days work was done (thinking Little House in the Big Woods). Especially since I HATE wearing dresses :)
Okay, well now, I'm done for now...TGIF!
Happy Weekend, y'all!

Here we go again...another school year in swing. Well, honestly, I'll miss my little girlies. Its awfully quiet around here without them. Although, it will be nice to develop more of a routine with Cash. Its already going pretty smooth. THey were all decked out in their favorite outfits for the first day! Sara went a little overkill with her leopard print (she has a leopard backpack, lunchbox and the outfit all together!)...but she looked fab!!
In other news...we wrote a contract on the house!!! YAY!! Hopefully, if its the Good Lord's will--this transaction will be smooth and go off without a hitch! We'll be closing/moving on September 28th. WOW. This is a big step for us...a great move for our family. I'm so looking forward to spending the fall in our new home.
Last week friend Tammy came in for a visit. I got to spend some time with her and Linda and it was so nice to talk to her in PERSON!! (she lives in CA). Got this cute picture of our boys...they are two months apart...aren't they just adorable!!!
Well, not much else to say...can you believe that? I guess I better get packing...
God Bless!

Just doing a little surfing and visiting some of my favorite blogs tonight (<-----see left side). Aren't blogs just fun! I love that little glimpse into some creative soul's world--so cool! It makes everybody just so REAL. Pretty neat. Speaking of, tonight in my travels, I came across this ADORABLE PUMPKIN HEAD hat and I can't wait to see the CHERRY HEAD hat!! Every little baby boy needs a pumpkin head hat, right?
How about a little inspiration...since I've been doing a few projects for Fiskars, I've been familiarized with their website a little more-so. First of all, you may not know it--but Fiskars has ONE TALENTED bunch of gals designing for them!! WOW! Some of my all time favorite designers (I won't name any names ;) You should REALLY check out their articles--so COOL! Lots of the neatest ideas...I just love perusing there.
More inspiration? Well, check out what Stacey's been up to!! She designed the CUTEST mini book with the Fanciful line for an upcoming class--love those cute pictures of her!! And there's a super fun school days project too--you gotta check it out!
In other news...one of my FAVORITE scrap designers and well, one of the nicest gals I've met along my travels just unveiled some very big news! Christy Tomlinson just revealed a secret that she's been working on for awhile! The Scarlet Lime. You will love this--check it out!
Meanwhile...my week is wrapping up like this--
Okay--I gotta get.
Have a super weekend...be good ;) jw
Well, folks, we've had a pretty mild summer but now its in the triple digis. WHEW!
HOT!
HOT!
HOT!
I'm feeling the effects of the heat and a hectic week...oh my! Trying to keep my mind on happy thoughts--like yesterday...my mail box was STUFFED (okay, so I hadn't picked it up in a few days :) with GOODIES (and bills :( too). It doesn't take much to make me happy, people...LOL! I mentioned last week that I had a little eBay purchasing frenzy...here's a few of the things that came:
In other news...just want to let you know I only have three of these class kits left. If you're interested, shoot me an email. This class has some really fun things to offer-even a little surprise too!
Today, I'm trying to wrap up work stuff early to go visit my sweet friend Tammy whose in town visiting! So excited to see her--she lives in Cali now, but gets to visit a couple of times a year! Tammy has been such an awesome friend and cheerleader to me for six years now. She and her friend Linda owned the (second) lss that I taught for! Isn't that neat! She still scraps like crazy! I love her so much!!
Okay--I gotta go get ready! Still gotta wrap up school shopping for the girls and MUST GET GROCERIES!!! We have had no food for days--don't worry, everyone has had something to eat somehow :)
Who else is have a High School Musical premier party Friday night??? Hmmm? I know you are! LOL! My girls are counting the days!
Look at these toofies (translation: teeth). Yep, it was a bad hair day too :) Don't you just wanna sop him up with a biscuit!!?? TOO SWEET!
Y'all have a blessed week getting back to school and going on your way.

Ahhh...a sleeping baby. Just doesn't get much sweeter than this, does it? He's been trying to cut his top teeth and been a bit fussy lately--very out of character for him. The last couple of days have been so nice. I got to sort of take the days off--play with the kids, enjoy my clean house, been spending too much time looking at eBay and cars online! Still don't know whats up with my car. My luck its $500 short of being totalled. Oh well.
I've been bitten by the sewing bug. OOooohhh...its bad. :) I've bought some yummy wool felt (this stuff is hard to find!!) from here. I bought some rad Moda Fabric from the Chocolate Lollipop collection (Free Spirit). I bought some of my FAVORITE designer--Heather Bailey's Freshcut collection. I bought some Shangri La from Moda. Can't wait to get my hands on this stuff!!! I want to make Sara a couple of those cute little spaghetti strap dresses that you can do with a tee, over jeans, really fun. I plan on doing a quilt or two--and I have some other sewing projects I'm working on for National Sewing Month. Did you even know there was a NSM?? Me neither...but gosh darn I'm all excited about it now!!
I got to chat with Stacey today and catch up a bit. She's busy planning classes and working on those projects. Fun fun!
Well, much to my girls' surprise, friend Angie and I have planned a surprise trip to Branson, MO tomorrow. Taking the girls to Whitewater to splash the day away. They don't know yet! They'll be quite surprised, yes they will!! We are going to try to visit Laura Ingalls house and some Amish peeps too...our girls are so interested in each of these. Sara LOVES the Little House series. It was one of my favorites too...so neat to see your kids enjoying some of the same simple things you did. Coolness.
Well, I better get cracking...lots to do. If you're around on Saturday scrappin' or just puterin'--come over to the CREATIVE SCRAP SHACK and chat with us. I've had the pleasure of being invited as a guest chatter (hee hee:) with the folks over there. Its at 1pm CST on Saturday the 11th. Hope you can make it!

I suppose if everything in life were perfect...well, we wouldn't appreciate the good stuff, now would we. I've been cruising along feeling very blessed lately. I've had a couple of humbling experiences in the last couple of weeks. First, my poor niece wiped out and broke her leg while swimming at our house about a week and a half ago. I was sick for two days. She's 13 (almost)...she's a basketball player--she's a teenager--places to go, people to see, etc. I just feel sick that this happened right before school started. Today she got a beautiful green cast--six weeks of that to come. I'm thankful no surgery was necessary. Still so sad for her.
Monday---Scott got home just in time for me to run out to my WW meeting at 5:30. I had dinner going for the girls and Cash was sitting in his high chair. As we said our goodbyes and I was leaving, I'll never (especially now) forget the view from the back door. I could see each little face perfectly as they were carrying on about whatever it was they were doing there in the kitchen...Cash sitting in his seat looking my way. I had an urge to go back in and give them each another hug and a kiss. Maybe I should have...maybe that extra minute or two would have changed my fate. But, I didn't and this is what happened.
A man ran a red light and hit me first on the passenger side...and then I smacked into another car on my side. What was I thinking when I saw him coming and I couldn't do a thing? "I don't have my seatbelt on." Yep. I didn't. As a driver, I'm a pretty faithful seatbelt wearer. There are times...like this day, that I'm preoccupied and for some reason, I didn't put it on. It was about 2 miles from my house. No broken glass, no blood, no visible bruises...pretty sure that every seat in my car was occupied by guardian Angels. Thank God. Thank God my kids weren't with me as they are with me almost ALWAYS. Thank God I walked away. Thank God for a humbling experience.
I don't know whats up with my car...it drives! Seems like it took the impact pretty well. Scott has been the lucky one getting to drive it! I took over his truck for now. Still waiting on the police report and insurance junk to get started.
So the moral of this story...feel blessed. Know that things can change in the blink of an eye. Say your prayers and be thankful for each ordinary, unexciting day of your life. Hug and kiss your kids...again. jw
