Goodness Gracious...

There's not enough time in the day.  I'm treading water here--keeping my head above...Lord help me get through this week :)

Checked off my list this weekend:

  • packed the two bathrooms, Cash's closet, girls toys ++odds and ends
  • Designed and sewed one and a half (don't ask :) tablerunners for Fiskars
  • Projects for QVC for Fiskars
  • 23 hairbows for Little League cheerleaders in progress (10 down 13 to go--is that like a first down?)
  • quality time spent with girls for doing GREAT in school (went to movies and saw Evan ALmight--now thats my kind of movie! LOL!)
  • Laundry...oh heck, what I'm thinking--its never done!!

Late nights are catching up to me...my eyes are crossing.  I did have a bit of time this evening to relax and had dinner with my Mom and Aunt Linda.  That was nice.  Must go to bed. :0

Something for YOU...

Tree_card_4

In honor of the coming season, I wanted to share a card idea that I just love.  If you know me, you know my LOVE for circle punches of ALL sizes!!  Well, thats just about all there is to this card.  Oh, and the tree design (see below)...you can actually print this on black cardstock to make things easy!  (click on the image to see the full size image in better detail :)

Download tree.psd

So gather up kraft and black cardstock, a manila folder (to print the various words onto), some orange, green, and gold scraps of paper, and your black pen.  Oh and you'll need a circle punch-- THESE are my favorites.  I'm pretty sure you can figure out the rest!!  If you don't like doodling (like on the circles) --you can stamp them with your favorite doodly, swirly stamps!!

So anyway--just thought I would share this simple idea.  Have fun-- make some cards this weekend!

Today's Sewing Project

Gosh...I know with all of this sewing I've been doing you'd think I'd quit with the paper and took up a new hobby completely!  You gotta check out todays project: Artist Portfolio  I saw something similar to this years ago made out of a washcloth to hold baby items (clippers, ointment, etc.) but thinking of my girls, I tweaked the idea a bit.

Here's a smidge of the entire project:

So, today I am packing items in my scrap room.  Its got to be done.  Moving in 8 days!!! OH MY!!

Okay--I have to make you jealous now, guess what I had in the mail when I got home from Phoenix???  I'll give you a hint:  my first Scarlet Lime kit!  I'm so excited and sad at the same time.  I can't play with it till after we get to the new house.  :( I'm so sad.  I want to just roll around in all the goodies in that package.  Everybody else must LOVE it too-- the October MAIN kit has already SOLD OUT!!  Go Christy!!!

Well, I hear my little Cash man...time to Mommy-cize.

Have a great rest of the week--

checking my list...

Today, I checked almost everything off my to-do list!  YAY!  Only a couple of things rolling over till tomorrow--thats GOOD.

Phoenix was good...love that dry heat.  Its just so very BROWN there.  Hard for a southern, country girl to get used to, you know?  Nice to visit, but I'll take my rolling green hills and humidity.  I missed the kids terribly.  The best part of my trip was seeing Candice!  Man we've had some good times.  Meeting her and other special friends (you know who YOU are) was definitely a highlight of my years working with Junkitz.  I was so proud of myself for jumping into my little red rental and taking off into the sunset to meet Candice at the mall for dinner in a far away land :)  We ate at PF Changs...a favorite of both of ours.  We laughed and laughed...oh, it was so nice.  Thanks Curtis for excellent directions! ;)  Candice has the goofy pictures on her blog :)

Candice

I still haven't got to share my sewing projects here...I gave two of them away --a purse and a wristlet, to friend Angie for helping me with the kids last week (I just don't know what I would do with out YOU :).  I knew that bag had a special purpose!  Maybe I can steal it back to take a picture to share.  Here's another one that is on the Fiskars site...I love this project.  SEW EASY!!  Lots of other ideas on there as well.  Oh I'm in heaven looking at them all...something new each day!  Only I'm sad cause I had to pack my sewing stuff away for now... :(  Stitch & Bi*** night will have to resume sometime in October.

Tomorrow is a big day for several ladies in the world of scrapbooking...its the day they announce Scrapbooker of the Year or SOY as many refer to it.  My very talented friend Paula Barber is up for this award/recognition/prize!  WOW!  This is big time!  Just wanted to wish Paula the best of luck.  You GO GIRL!

This evening I made Rice Krispy treats...YUM YUM YUM!  Such a simple treat.  The best part is eating the stuff off the spoon when the marshmallows are still warm and gooey.  Lets just say I ate an undisclosed amount while suffering from some emotional drama that I was relaying to Scott (while eating the said undisclosed amount :).  He finally cut me off...lol!  In my defense...I didn't have dinner...or I guess I should say--I had Rice Krispy treats for dinner.  Abby thinks I'm the best Mom ever now and she's so thrilled to eat the treats tomorrow for her snack-- it doesn't take much to make my girl happy!!

Note to self: No more Rice Krispy treats when dealing with life's little dramas.

Till next time :) jw

No time to blog... :(

Goodness, this week has flown--already Wednesday, well, almost Thursday if you wanna get technical about it.  You know me, always burning the midnight oil :)

I have so much to blog about but it will have to wait...note to self: gotta share last week's Stitch & Bi***: very productive, can't wait to show you what I've been making!!  Here's a hint.  No stitching this Friday night...as I'll be out of town.  We will have to resume next week I guess.

This is kind of old news...but Abby lost her first tooth!!  It was last week, but I had to share her new snaggle-tooth smile with you.

We made this little pouch to put her tooth in under her pillow to keep it safe for the Tooth Fairy.

Also can't wait to get a picture of Cash in his new hat--if you have a baby this is a MUST for this fall.  Its so soft too, he must like it alot cause he doesn't even jerk it off his head (like he does every other hat :) Check out the Knitty Bitties Etsy shop for lots of too COOL stuff.

Trying to get loose ends tied up for tomorrow-- heading to Phoenix to the CK Convention to teach for Fiskars.  Getting to share some fun projects from Heidi Grace and Cloud 9-- looking forward to this.  I can't believe I have never been to Arizona!  Its my first time...hoping to get to see Candice and play a little too.

I haven't traveled (far) in a long time...its going to be hard to say goodbye to the kiddos.  So much going on while I'm gone.  I hate so much that I am going to miss Sara's first cheerleading game Saturday and she's going to be dancing with the big cheerleaders at a varsity game Friday night.  It never fails that my trips always coincide with something important...to me anyway.  The guilt.  Oh the guilt. Friend Angie is helping me with Cash tomorrow and Scott is actually taking off for Friday--let me tell you, people, this is unheard of.  The man just doesn't take off...have I ever told you what a great guy he is?  He is. Of course he makes me madder than a hornet sometimes too--  :)  Its true love.

I just finished up a little article for the Fiskars site today...check it out over there in the articles on the 15th--its about one of my specialties: Fast Scrappin!  There are so many good ones I just LOVE it when they come out...Stacey K did one recently that got me in the MOOD for the holidays.  Definitely check it out!  That girl just amazes me!

Well, its 12:03 am and I've yet to pull my suitcase out of the closet.  Better go do that, I suppose!  Have a great rest of the week--

God Bless!

Exciting stuff!!

Well, lots has been going on around here-- last Friday night us girls got together for Stitch & Bit** (can't say that word, but nothing else fits quite so well, you know?) and had so much fun!  Although the term Stitch & Bit** most commonly refers to knitting, we think it applies to us as well...we made baby bibs, I finished my pillows I was working on and we drank coffee and ate homemade popcorn into the weeee hours...and I mean wee (about 3:30 am :0).  My little blue sewing machine was SMOKIN!!  I told the girls, "next time, its BYOSM--"  It was so much fun!

Over the weekend, we started packing for real.  The garage is half full of boxes and we only packed the stuff we don't need/use everyday!!  OMGoodness!!!  Honest, I'm not a packrat!!  Its just the stuff like china, crystal, serving pieces, some kitchen appliances, some of the girls' stuff--  this moving thing is going to be major!!!

I'm excited because of THIS.  If you watch the pictures change on the page, you'll see a project I designed and Cash is modeling-- the Baby Chick onesie.  Also, the "this week's featured project" is one of mine as well!!  So exciting!  Keep a watch on the Fiskars site this month--there are already a lot of new REALLY FUN sewing projects!!  I'm amazed and inspired at what the Top Twelve gals are coming up with!!  So cool!

Remember last week when I said I must clean my scrap room--well, I didn't.  I know thats hard to believe ;)--so today, I really must.  "This is sewious--"  what are those little cartoon animals that rescue other animals, there's a hamster and a couple other ones??  Think "sewious" like they say... hee hee!

Janna out : )
