Let the SNEAK PEEKS begin!!

Hi all. :)

I'm procrastinating.  There, I admitted it...so we've got that out of the way.

I'm so excited about scrapbooking...especially after getting to chat with Donna tonight.  Little warning...if we talk on the phone-- I WILL talk your ear off!!  Deb & Donna both may be one ear short now!!  hee hee :)

Anyhoo...I got the opportunity to PLAY with some of the new releases from meandmyBIGideas.  All I have to say is WOW.

Just WOW!

I did this page with the new Renee collection.  I really love the way they have coordinated these new lines...they are ABSOLUTELY NOT matchy matchy-- however they are coordinated and they compliment each other--the colors, the textures, the designs...totally love it!   Don't even get me started on the embellishments!

Let me just tell you about the papers in a word...LUXURIOUS.  Textures, colors, depth--just beautiful.

Good_times_close

It may be hard to tell from the images...but the black on the background paper is velvet-y or flocked.  SO divine.  This is one of my favorite papers of all time...(the neutral/cream with black velvet swirly).  Its from the new collection called: Coastal Culture (what a cool name!!)  It is so gorgeous...I really wanted to leave plenty of it visible on this layout.

Good_times_resize

I also did a little accordion album for MAMBI--I don't know if I can show it all (cause its possibly for a class), so I'll just put a peek for now, k?

Img_3954

This was such a fun project...the collection is Modern Milan.  What I love about their designs: they are so fresh!    So grateful to get the opportunity to work up some samples for MAMBI :)   I saw the stuff Jamie Harper did with it and then well, I wanted to hide my pages...she is so talented!!!  Check it out!

As of tomorrow, I'll be out from under some assignments and hopefully have time to do some more fun fun stuff with these goodies!  Thanks for letting me share! jw

Right NOW...

Its Snowing...right now.

I feel all giddy inside.  Time for hot chocolate...(its already on the stove :)

Just look... :)

Img_0077_resize

We only get a couple of good snows each year here...so its kind of a big thing for us to get snow!

The girls are out playing with the neighbors...freezing!

Better go finish up that hot chocolate...just had to share! jw

Good Morning...

Didn't get much sleep last night-- trying to get things in order for the week.  Do you ever get on a KICK of using (and maybe abusing) something or a technique in your scrapbooking/crafting?  You can't finish a layout with adding a little bit here or there.  Lets see--let me think back over the years--there's been

  • glass beads
  • all things gingham (still LOVE it)
  • inking
  • buttons (no page is FINISHED with out a couple, right?)
  • tearing
  • ribbon (oh, who am I kidding...I'm still on that one:)
  • kraft cardstock

...oh and so many more I don't think I can even think of them all!!

RIGHT NOW--

its GLITTER GLUE.   I mean, shouldn't we add sparkle with any means we have!  Just a dab'll do ya!

Img_0198_resize

PAPER & RIBBON FLOWERS...check out Candice's blog for a simple tutorial on the ribbon flower.

Felt...only real wool felt, of course :)  So nice.

Can you tell I'm getting "in the mood" for Valentine's Day?

So WHAT IS YOUR THING, right now??  What are you hooked on??  Pray tell, I might need to jump on the wagon WITH YOU!

Speaking of jumping on the wagon-- I got the best idea from Donna--have you watched the Leah & Johanna's videos?  Well, cute Donna stopped in and video'd with them and she was talking about a CARD BUFFET.  How cool is that?   You'll just have to watch and let Donna tell about it.  Anyhoo-- I think I'm going to try that with some friends this weekend.  I love the idea and think it will be a fun, no stress way to CREATE and hang with friends.

Have a great week!  Love to all...jw

TGIF!

Two words--

PROJECT RUNWAY.

This, from the girl that NEVER watches t.v.  I watched three shows in a row last night-- (well, watched as much as I could anyway considering Scott was running the shop vac [sanding in the kitchen] off and on and I was helping Abby with homework.  That denim challenge was fun!  Loved Ricky's dress-- HATED Christians' [ICK!!!]-- but needed to see something that REAL women could wear.  I think they need a couple of models that are, you know, at least a 10 or a 12.  Its reality tv after all, right!?  I might have to get in on that Project 501's challenge and turn in a design for us REAL women...LOL!!

I guess all of us Designers/WANNA-be's (like me) love this stuff don't we?  I wanted to be a fashion designer when I was younger...that or an architect.  I can remember sketching and designing dresses and outfits-- my signature designs were [trampy :0] girls in prom dresses and little houses.   But I loved to draw floorplans and visualize all the interiors and plan all of that out.

Its so funny because right now, Sara is totally into drawing/designing clothes.  She and a few friends at school have been working on designing a magazine (like the Limited too catazines, you know) with all these different looks.  Sara said NOTHING can be over $10 because she's a tightwad and hates that things are so expensive. LOL! I loved that because it was totally SJP's take on Bitten-- FASHION IS NOT A LUXURY.  I'll have to share some of her cute magazine when she's home...she keeps that binder with her all the time...drawing away!

Oh, and I just saw where Chris tagged me!  This is fun:

the rules.....
1. You have to post the rules before you give your answers.
2. You must list one fact about yourself beginning with each letter of your middle name. (If you don't have a middle name, use your maiden name).
3. After you are tagged, you need to update your blog with your middle name and your answers.
4. At the end of your blog post, you need to tag one person for each letter of your middle name. (Be sure to leave them a comment telling them they've been tagged and that they need to read your blog for details.)So - here are my answers:

My middle Name is LYNDA (I'm named after my sweet Aunt:)

L: "Lover", what Scott refers to me as (yes, even in public :)-- he has a name for everybody

Y: this is a hard one: hmm? How about YOUNG-- I am young...I'll be 32 next month.

N: Nightowl, anybody that knows me very well--knows that I am totally NOCTURNAL, its a family trait :)

D: Dreamer, I am a total dreamer--head in the clouds, have faith and anything is possible

A: A believer...I'm a Christian, I love God, I have faith that all things are possible through Him.

And now I get to tag someone......Annette, Candice, Jenny (yes, again!), Tami, & Sara

Well, here I am procrastinating.  I've got lots to do, so I better get to it.  Happy Friday to y'all.

RIGHT NOW...

RIGHT NOW-- okay, really it was like 30 minutes ago---> I came in to turn off lights, turn off Steely Dan (playing on the computer) and do a double take on a project I just finished when I got sidetracked (of course :) and saw that I had a few emails...one from Stephanie.  She tagged me-- to do a RIGHT NOW post.  So of course, I HAD to do it!  Right?!  RIGHT NOW.

Img_0398_resize_2

So this is the vacuum that I got out earlier that should NOT be here RIGHT NOW...really REALLY need to use it--just tripped over it getting into my scrap room.  [this sucker ROCKS by the way-- :)]  Don't look at my nasty floor--just know that my kitchen is being redone right now and I'm using that as an excuse not to mop. LOL!

Before I came in here...I was snuggling with this handsome guy...watching that DORKY Monster Quest show.  Love this picture of him...been contemplating a page with it today.  Its SO him.  It says a lot to me.  I love pictures like this--that I can see so much into, that probably no one else could ever see or know.  1000 words.  Mysterious.

Img_0410_resize

This is the mess that sits on my scrap table--RIGHT NOW.

Img_0395_resize

Img_0407_resize

Its not really obvious--but, there's a just finished project there [sshh..top secret stuff, you know].  I got some work with MAMBI (so excited about this) and I just finished a class project with one of their new collections.  Can't believe I'm getting to work with them!!  I go wayyyyyy back with MAMBI--I've got plenty of pages with those cute little kiddos on them and these days I LOVE LOVE LOVE their Rhinestone words!  I hoard them...Oooh!  So much to love!  I think their stuff is really easy to work with--very scrappable

Img_0393_resize

Img_0401_resize

RIGHT NOW-- I feel like I have so many ideas swimming in my head.  Just NEVER enough time to get them OUT of my head!  Been having fun perfecting the making of these cute little crepe paper flowers...RIGHT NOW they sit on the kitchen table awaiting a home on something Valentine-sy.  Speaking of these flowers...if you haven't ever checked out Candice Carpenter's blog--you should...RIGHT NOW.

Img_0413_resize

So RIGHT NOW-- it was almost 9:45-- WHAT!! I was going to bed before 10 o'clock!  What the heck???  Well, Steph, you blew that out of the water!! LOL!!  Thanks for tagging me girlfriend.  I think I'll tag some other friends...HOW ABOUT-- Jenny, Debbie, Andrea & my cute new friend Donna S.  Let's see what you girls are up to...RIGHT NOW!!

edited to add: KIM YOU ARE officially TAGGED!!  And so is everyone else that reads this post!  LOL!

RIGHT NOW...I'm hungry and I think I need some popcorn before I clean off my scrap table!  Are you tired of me saying RIGHT NOW?

Goodnight all.  jw

Heres just one reason why YOU should join the Fiskateers:

Img_0382

Yep...you will get your very own pair of Fiskateer scissors engraved with your own unique Fiskateer number!  Isn't that the coolest!!  I feel so special now!   Speaking of Fiskars...I just added a lot of new projects to my Fiskars photo album...mostly QVC sample projects, I had fun with these!

This weekend, Abby had her first bball game.  Its was the funniest, cutest thing ever!!  I enjoyed it so much and laughed and laughed.  Talk about pure entertainment!  Yes, their jerseys are HUGE!  Like dresses!

Img_0299

I haven't talked about resolutions...I usually make several and then really stink at sticking to them, you know?  Well, since we're a few weeks in-- I'll fess up to what mine are/were.

First--I wanted to kick my addiction to all things carbonated. Mostly, I love diet Coke--but really I love anything fizzy.  So, I went  cold turkey two weeks ago.  Doing great so far.

I also decided I needed to stop with the NON DAIRY creamer...what the heck is it anyway if its NOT dairy??  Well, probably not good, so I'm done.  I've moooo-ved on to half & half.  I think I actually like it better.  Like my SWEET coffee cup?  It was a bday gift from Holly last year :)

Img_0257_resize

My last resolution...CHURCH.  Get my rear end to Sunday school (not just morning service) and Wednesday night services.  No excuses.  So far, so good.  I know that everything else will fall into place if my priorities are right...so it says in Matthew 6:33 "But seek ye first the kingdom of God,and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you."

Oh, I have to share this...friend, Andrea is a superstar designer, seamstress, knitster, Mommy--and she's working on these fab aprons.  Love her fabric combinations...so fun!!!  Check more info out in her etsy shop...

Knitty_bitties_apron_button

Andrea, your supercute stuff just puts me in the mood to sew!!  How I wish we had a decent fabric store around here.

Little man thinks he's so cool now...reaching the doorknobs!!Img_0225a_resize

OH MY!!  Surely he can't...oh, but he can!  And he can open it too!

Well, I suppose I better get some rest...girls are out of school tomorrow and we've got lots on our to-do list.  Here's to a blessed week!

Watch & Listen

Watch & Listen

TO THIS.  Two of my very favorites singing this duet.

Thank you, Angie...love you.

Better post fast.

I have strict orders to clean my sb room today.  hee hee!  :) I'll be getting to that just as soon as I say a few words here...

I spent yesterday morning making a couple of dishes to take to our friends' home and then attended Peyton's funeral.  It was an emotional day, but it was a such joy to hear all of the wonderful things his friends and cousins had to say about him.  I think that boy LIVED more in sixteen years than most people do in sixty.  He touched a lot of folks with his bright spirit.  God definitely has a special job for Peyton in Heaven, I'm sure of it.

Got home and found the dreaded "blue screen" -- and something about "dumping memory" on my computer.  OH NO>  haven't backed up in a few weeks.  This is scary.  Now, like many things I know just about enough about computers to get myself into trouble.  I got it going again, for now.  But I don't think the problem is resolved.  I'm scared.  I did manage to back up all my work files, iTunes and photos added since my last back up.  Whew.  Close.  Now, I'm sure its a timebomb...ticking...

TICK.

Tick.

TiCk.

So funny what you guys said about the dog.  I can't take credit...it was Daddy.  And I can assure you this dog will NOT live in the house.  We, too, deal with a bit of allergies and we've already got three little piggies running around in here ;)  So far the girls are doing well taking care of little Miss Sassy.  She's been in the garage mostly.

Well, I thought I would share a few things today...if you haven't seen the BE LOVED collection from Cloud 9 Design, you'll want to get a hold of some of this super cute stuff before Valentines day for all your little projects.  These are a few things that I made for a QVC airing a while back and I just loved them all so much, I had a hard time sending them in!!

Checkbook_cvr_resize

This is just one of those clear check book covers--looks great with the Rain Dot alphas on the outside!  Used the Postage Stamp paper edgers on the photos for something a little different.

Stole_my_heart_resize

Love how his little feet look kinda like a heart in that big photo.

Abby_resize

You may be able to tell--but alot of these papers are LUSTER or GLITTERY--just gorgeous.  Everything you see in these projects is from the BE LOVED collection.  This is definitely a favorite of mine.

Had to share a picture of this recent addition to my sb room...I've had this lamp for a long time--its one of my favorite things.  I thought it looked a lot better in here than in my bedroom floor :) (still haven't gotten my bedroom decorated/fixed).

Img_0261_resize

Okay...better get to cleaning.  Have a great weekend.

Meet Sassy...

Okay...let me preface this whole thing by saying-- I'm just not an animal person.  I wish I was-- but Nope, just not.  Our girls have been wanting a pet SOOOOO bad!  Finally, their prayers have been answered:  Meet Sassy (short for Sassafrass)

Img_0391_resize

Img_0007_resize

Cash is still kinda with me on this puppy thing...he doesn't know quite what to think about her.  He's warming up slowly...I'm sure they will be great friends.  The girls were so happy--as you can see.

Img_0384_resize

Daddy scored some pretty major brownie points.  They wanted to know what kind she was: his response-- "a black dog."  Heinz 57 I suppose?  LOL!

Meanwhile I had to post at least a couple of pictures from Cash's birthday.  My pictures didn't turn out that great given the lighting situation...but they're still priceless!

Img_0304a_resize

Img_0279a_resize

And this is from today...is he not the cutest thing you've ever seen...check out those shoes: Little Converses...OH MY!!

Img_0253a_resize

Just wanted to say thanks for all the kind comments and prayers for our friends...its so appreciated.

I better be going- I'm taking Abby to lunch today for her straight A report card.  Superstar!

God Bless--jw

Sadness.

After all of the hurrah of Cash's birthday...which was great, we had a big slumber party of Cousins...which was also lots of fun.  However, Sunday morning I learned of a terrible tragedy.  Some friends of ours 16 year old son died Saturday night, their only son.  I cannot express my sadness and my heart just aches for this loss.  I look at this family with great admiration and know that they enjoyed that boy more than just going through the motions of parenting.  They let him LIVE and he experienced many things in his 16 years that many folks don't experience in a lifetime.  I admire their Christian values and life-- and I've just been in continually prayer that they can cope with this tragedy with God's GRACE.  I've learned through my own experience there's no point in trying to understand God's reasons, God's plan or even just what HIS will is for us.  Just live.  Take each day as it comes...because life is a gift.  In the big scheme of thing its but a blink of an eye in contrast to eternity.

With that said...I think MY word of the year is "LIVE."  Enjoy life right now, live it to the fullest, know that there may not be tomorrow so do the best, love the most, give my all-- today.

Live.
