And the winner is!

I did one of those coolio RANDOM NUMBER PICKERS---to choose the winner of the FREE Adventures in Crafting class from Wednesday's post.

Drumroll please**************************************

and the winner is the comment #4 from Houston!! (and isn't that the coolest name too!)

YAY!  That was fun!  Remember, its not too late to join the class.  If you're feeling crafty, need a little creative rejuvenation, need something a little out of the box...this online workshop is for YOU!  You can learn all about it HERE.

Oh and speaking of winners...Leana won the FREE class over at the Scrap Scene blog!  YAY!!  You just can't beat freebies right!?

Change of subject...

Have you heard about MY CRAFTIVITY? Its a pretty neat site for crafters to share, network, learn--it was just launched in Feb, I believe?  You can set up your own little site (kinda like my space, face book--for CRAFTERS) and even blog from there.  I like it a lot and its pretty easy to navigate.  Here's my site--as if I have time to get involved with one more thing!  LOL!!  But its fun to do when you're procrastinating, right?!  LOL!  Check it out!!  And lets be "friends" if you decide to join, okay?  :)

Well, I'm fixin to dive into this horrible crafty mess--gotta get it cleaned up to some some video for the class.  Or maybe I won't...we'll just some reality tv--LOL!! Scraproom in state of major disaster after last project was finished.  On second thought...better clean, its just too dangerous in here!

Have a blessed weekend!

SNEAK PEEK- Adventures in Crafting

Can I just say--with each project that I finish and wrap up for my e-workshop, I am having so much fun.  The creative cup overfloweth!!  To have the creative freedom and to just CREATE...ahhh!  Such a rush!!  So I wanted to share a sneak peek--for those of you that are maybe still on the fence and for those of you that jumped on the bandwagon.  I promise...you will really like this class.  I call it "cross crafting!"  LOL!!  Mixing the paper, fabric, beads, any crazy stuff you can stick together to make fabulous, gorgeous keepsakes!  LOVE IT!  I won't tell you which project this is from...but if you can guess the right answer (might need to peek at this post) in the comments--I'll draw a name from the answers for a FREE Adventures in Craftiness class!  Its not too hard to figure, I don't think :) (If you've already signed up, I'll refund your fee :)

EDITED TO ADD: HINT!!! No, its not BLOOMIN GOODNESS!  LOL!!  Think "HEARTS" xoxo-- how bout we change this to...leave a comment, your in for the drawing!  Thats cool, right?  I'll announce the winner sometime Saturday!!

I'm all about simplicity with details--its all in the details, right!?

Ready for the week!

Easter_banner

Hope you had a Happy Easter...we did.   The girls made this banner last week on spring break and its been such a fun touch to the house...I don't want to take it down!  I was kinda sad that spring break was over.  Sara was real sad.  Abby, that little social butterfly was ready to go back to see her friends!

So I finished up my next Scrap A Faire class today...I really like it.  It was something different for me--something I'd never attempted before.  And it was fun!  Totally FUN!

I used some of this

and some of this

and lots of other goodies too!!

Img_22small

Now my work table is a NIGHTMARE!!  I was literally working in that tiny space where the cutting mat is!!  LOL!  It was bad...glad to be finished and on to the next fun thing!  Finishing up the details on the Adventures class!!  YAY!!!

Now here I sit eating Easter candy.  My favorite candy candy: Skittles  --My favorite chocolate candy: Cadbury eggs (both kinds :)  Mmmmmm.  Gotta stop with the candy. :)

Here's a picture from Easter...baby boy hasn't been 100%, allergies.  Yuck!

Easter_sunday

Gosh...so much to share.  When I was shopping the other night (ran to WM at like mid*night for a few things) I found some packaging/displays on the Easter candy aisle.  And guess what they are just PERFECT for???  Check this out:

Img_20small

And I have like...A BUNCH!!  And they were free!  I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask them if I could have them--they would probably just be throwing them in the dumster--so I did!  What a find.  Perfect for sorting items when I'm working on a class project or making cards...just love this!  SO keep your eyes peeled for empty displays at the store!

Hmmm...what else?

Counting down the days till the Crafty workshop starts.  I have a new obsession.  Wanna see?

Img_0495small

I'll be talking more about this later...LOL!!  :)

Well, I've got to get busy on that work table now...its "HIDEOUS" as my Sara would say (thats "her" word).

Happy Crafting and here's to a blessed spring week!

National Craft Month

Did you know March is National Craft Month?  Yep.  Don't we just love that!  Over at the Fiskars website...theres a project a day from the Fiskars 15 designers and the Fabulous Fiskateers.  I've been over there this morning...getting all inspired!  There are some jaw-dropping projects for sure!!  AMAZING!!  I'll give you a peek of mine (its not up yet...but I wanted to post it before Easter).  These are some really QUICK and SIMPLE Easter/Spring place cards...they'd work perfect for Mother's Day too (minus the eggs :)

Place_card_1

Today, Sara is going to make special place cards for our Easter dinner.  She's got them ALL planned out--two notebook pages of lists and sketches and color plans...hee hee!  She's SO her Mama!!  Now she's begging me to take her to the store to pick up supplies.  LET THE CRAFTING BEGIN!!

Just wanted to say THANK YOU a million AGAIN for all the interest and sign ups for my Adventures in Crafting class.  Wow.  I feel so blessed and so grateful.  This week prior to Easter has brought me so many blessings.  One of them, was last night-- I got the opportunity to teach a Weds night kids class at church.  I never thought I could teach at Church...just didn't feel knowledgeable enough.  But--it just filled me up inside and I feel so happy to have this little group of kiddos to teach.  I'm excited about doing some fun things with this little class.

On a personal note...another HUGE blessing-- I got a phone call this week.  How many times to we hope or pray for something and God hands us exactly what we ask for?  Not too often, I think...He usually has a better way.  But this time...I'm still a little shocked, I was approached to do some design work this week...exactly the type of work I have been wanting to do.  Uh...wow! :)  I am hoping that it will work out...hoping that it will turn into something wonderful.  I'm just so thankful.  So, we'll see where it goes.

My heart is just so filled up with joy.  Now, I need to go spread some of my joy around, I think!

With heartfelt thanks...jw

Happy Tuesday

Its a bit gloomy here --but that won't get my spirit down.  The last few days have just blessed me and blessed me!  Oh my!  I'm so grateful for all the participation in my class, we already have a great group!  WOW!  Some old friends and some new friends too!  YAY!   I am looking so forward to this!

I have to thank Donna for giving me the YOU MAKE MY DAY AWARD.  Thanks friend!  What a special and sweet thing!  Now I get to give the award to ten people...how fun!

Day_award

The rules for the You Make My Day award are to re-present it to 10 people whose blogs bring you happiness and inspiration and make you feel happy about blog land. Let them know through email or by posting a comment on their blog so they can pass it on. Beware you may get the award several times yourself, and if you do, consider yourself really, really loved.”

I really enjoy going to these blogs...such inspiration, pure eye candy, amazing stuff...there are so many more but here's my ten for now.

Donna Salazar (of course :)

Teresa Collins

Ms. Homegown herself, Stephanie Tafoya

Heather Bailey

Tanya Whelan- Grand Revival

Keisha Campbell

Surprisedly, I feel pretty NON stressed to have as much on my plate this week as I do.  I gave it to God and I'm trying hard not to try to sneak it back, if you know what I mean ;) LOL!

So now I'm off to clean up the eggs Cash flung from his high chair (to signify that he is DONE) and tidy the kitchen, then on to the laundry (which if I don't go to it...I'm sure it will come to me!!!!!)--- I could go on...but I don't want to worry with it.  I'm just going with the flow today.

Here's another bit of a project from the Adventures in Crafting workshop...just in case you need a little more enticing!  Oh, this project is one of my favorites!!  There's plenty of time to sign up if you want to start with us on April 1st...

First things first...thanks so much for the well-wishes and concern.  Today...I think I am back to myself again.  Whew!  Moms just don't have time to get sick, do we!?

Okay...on to more important info...

Initially I thought I might start both the registration and class today.  But, after much thought (and a crazy, hectic week) --I think a two week registration period might be better :)  This way I can put the details out there...market the class a bit and wrap everything up for April 1st.  I am working feverishly trying to finalize projects, details and downloadable materials for the class.  And so excited!  I know its not that big of a deal.  Its just a class...but its really special to me.  Because I got to do things my way...show you some of my favorite things, use my favorite products and materials...really fun stuff :)  So here's the details...

Q&A

Is there a limit on the class?

No limit.  If you're like me, you'll probably sign up at the last minute!

March 13, 2008

one of those days...

I know you've had them...one of those days, not enough hours in it, you going in every direction and then some...trying to find a balance between family, the house, work, church or other committments... and on top of that you're sick...the baby's sick and everything seems to be flying at you while you are hurdling all the things that are popping up.  C'est La Vie, right?

Did I ever tell you that I don't go to the doctor...hardly ever.  Yesterday, I went.  Only to confirm the diagnosis Nurse Angie gave me a week or two ago: Strep throat.  Man, thats some seriously bad stuff.  Can't get over it by yourself...nope.  It was going to requre medical intervention.  And so I now have some good antibiotics and my pain has subsided quite a bit since yesterday.  The sort of good news is...I've lost 9 pounds in the last few weeks.

And then poor baby boy...he'd had the booger eye/cold in his eye for a few days...so I thought I better have him checked as well yesterday at the doctor.  The news is worse...both ears infected and the eye infection.  Poor baby.  He wasn't sleeping well...and now I know why.  Got him on medicine too...eyes and ears.

Our house has been extra hectic this week...today was sort of the peak of that.  It all hit the fan and went crazy this evening...now, I just feel like I need a cigarette or something (and no, I've NEVER smoked at all except for when I was like five ;). Whew!

I think I'll just go sit in the dark.

...alone

and listen to the tree frogs singing their song.

And breathe.

Looking forward to a new day tomorrow.

Just a quick HELLO!

Man...its already Tuesday!  Kids are out next week for spring break...I really wanna just hang out with them and not have to worry too much about work-y stuff.  Here's to hoping I can wrap it up by Saturday-ish?

Its been a few days since I've posted.  Just wanted to say hello to y'all and remind you to look for details of my upcoming online class come Saturday.  Its going to be the type of thing...that you don't have to sign up at any specific time--you can do it at YOUR leisure.  I can't wait!  So if you're going to be out of town next week for spring break...no big deal.  You can sign up any time after the 15th.  And hopefully I'll have a new class available come the 15th of April!  Still working on those details.

I have to share this layout...its in the newest issue of BHG Scrapbooks etc. (I think?)--anyway, I think its one of my all time favorites.  Favorite color, favorite photos, favorite boy, favorite products... just such a favorite.  Love seeing how Cash changed over the first six months...

Thanks for stopping in!  Have a blessed week!

A Happy Man...

Dadcash

I just love this picture.  Its a picture of a happy man.  Now, don't think I'm going to stand over here and take the credit for all this happiness...simply, he knows what has real value in life.  He doesn't care about things that don't matter.  He doesn't waste time worrying about petty things.  He loves his family and works hard to give us the things we need.  Honestly, I don't know how he puts up with me most of the time!  LOL!  He is a pretty amazing man.  Just ask any of my friends...

Today is Scott's birthday.  Of course, he doesn't want for anything.  But he has an affinity for Case knives...so I'll probably see if I can find one to add to his collection.  Its Beans & Cornbread and Tiramisu for dinner!  Yes, I know that is quite an ironic combination...but two of his favorites!

I'm really blessed to have such a great guy...Happy Birthday Honey!

In other news...my Crafty Adventure is still set to start on the 15th of March!  I'll be posting some sneaks next week leading up to that Saturday-- so clear your scrap table or your kitchen table or find a clean spot on the floor--and be ready!!  We're gonna get our craft on this next weekend!  Until then...here's another peek at a technique I'll be sharing...Img_0182_resize_2

Think papercrafting, some fabric and felty goodness with some heartfelt stitches!  Some whimsy and fun and some serious scrap matters too!  Its all good stuff!

eta: that fabric is some of Heather Bailey's Freshcut fabric...de-lish!  I've bought mine from eBay, but also you can find it lots of other places!  I also love to buy my wool felt from here.

Journaling Junkie

Gotta shout out to the gals over at the Journaling Junkie...Stella and the gang!  Thanks for having me as a challenge participant...I love journaling and usually have to think of a unique way to incorporate it because --well, I'm just not a planner when it comes to scrappin!  I'm a cut first measure later kinda gal!  Anywho...thats what my challenge is all about.  Here's a sneak peek of my project...you can see the layout and the challenge over at the JJ blog.
