My hands are cold but I love to write. With a pen and paper that is. So I wrote this blog post out on notebook paper...so primitive, I know! (now, of course I'm typing it :)
It feels good to put pen to paper.
Imperfect. No delete button.
Thoughts streaming to the paper.
I've been thinking a lot about scrapbooking. I'm looking at the first page I've created in a long time that wasn't for an assignment, a class, or for a purpose other than my own pure enjoyment. I've worked in this industry 7+ years and now I feel kind of out of touch. Like I don't know what's going on. But that doesn't matter. Knowing what's hip isn't what scrapbooking is about. It's okay just to do what you like. Even if it is SO 2008. :) LOL!
But I saw this picture of Cash...and it lit a fire in me.
It captured everything...about him.
This is what I see in my mind when I think of him.
I wanted to make a scrapbook page with it...and I did.
And I enjoyed it. It was fun. :)
And just like always I ran to show Scott to get his thoughtful nod and approving grin.
ahhhh. sigh...good feelings stirring up inside me.
Even though I wanted to burn every scrapbook related particle I owned last summer...(yes, I was a little over stimulated with scrapbooking) I know I can't put my paper, glue and pretties in the closet...I have yet so many memories to capture.
Not starry eyed moments or perfect images...the real stuff. Just the reality of it all.
So that's my story.
As I started brainstorming and making goals for 2010, one of which was to scrapbook again...I started thinking. I'm a girl that needs goals, deadlines (I know some of you are giggling right now :), things that seemingly can't be done to come to pass. So what shall I do? Maybe it was kind inspired by watching Julie and Julia. Maybe I know I need accountability. Maybe I wonder if I can REALLY do it?
I love all these challenge blogs. Very cool stuff. Ali comes to mind. Fabulous. Love the WORD of the year stuff. Sketch challenges are awesome too. Me, I really just want to do PAGE A WEEK for just the pure pleasure of creating. And make a memory stand still with paper and glue and cool scrapbook stuff. And maybe you'll get inspired too? Maybe you'll do it with me? Cool.
So it begins.
52 pages in 52 weeks.
Sounds pretty easy. Right?
Let's do it. Pick out a photo or three. It begins Thursday.

I know what you mean about getting bogged down in assignments and forgetting the pure enjoyment of scrapping Janna. A couple of weeks ago some girlfriends and I decided that we'd do a weekly layout about ourselves, so that'll be my theme for the 52.

Sounds great! I'll at least attempt it with you! It will be a good goal for me!

I want to join you too Jana. I need to remember what it is that I truly love about scrapping and just put a page together not worrying about design or if I worded it right or if I used the right products...just pure creativity. Thanks for the inspiration and the reminder! :)

Ooh, I love this goal. I'm going to *try* to start, assuming I can get to my scrap table...

Janna I'm looking forward to joining you! Love fast pages ;-)

I'm in! It's not required to post a pic of each layout, is it? Or is that the whole point of this...for accountability? I really want to get caught up so that my journaling can be more accurate. (for the facts and the feelings of the event)
