too much fun!!!

Our four week session of Got Sketch 102 is drawing to a close, but that doesn't mean you can't still take part in all of the Got Sketch class inspiration!! The classroom is available until November 30th for folks who still want to sign up and members to chat and share. We've had a great time interacting with the members this last month and seeing the HUNDREDS of inspiring layouts they've uploaded in the class gallery...WOW!! I could spend hours paging through the layouts!

This time around it was all about multiphoto LAYOUTS! But we managed to sneak in a couple of REALLY COOL BONUSES for the class PLUS all our great TIP SHEETS--this is all in addition to the EIGHT exclusive sketches and pdf downloads (project sheets)! Check out these printable DESIGNER LABELS I designed for the class.

We strive to make our classes really unique offering these exclusive downloads and templates to go along with some of the projects...check out this adorable BONUS Val shared during class!!

We've worked really hard to make this class the best that it could be by listening to what our students liked and suggestions from 101. We're so encouraged by all of the feedback from our students. Read what our students have to say about Got Sketch 102.

what I want...

So much of the time I think we spend so much of our lives trying to answer to and be what other want us to be. As Moms we have to and want to fill our children's needs...as professionals we want to meet the status quo and meet challenges...be successful-- as women, we want to juggle it all and handle all of these things will ease and grace...while wearing great shoes :)

I ask...Can it be done? It seems that I just spend most of my time putting out the fires with the biggest flames! LOL! (While wearing Croc flip flops :) I try so hard to separate family and work-- but it is sometimes very difficult with a toddler and two school age children. The result= lots of LATE nights trying to play catch up.

Seeing some of this coverage of Sarah Palin...makes me ponder. I think some women can do it. Me, I am ALWAYS searching and praying for balance in all aspects of my life. I think this is one of the biggest struggles of my life right now.

BALANCE: (there are several definitions of course)
5. A stable mental or psychological state; emotional stability. [check]

6. A harmonious or satisfying arrangement or proportion of parts or elements, as in a design. See Synonyms at proportion.

7. An influence or force tending to produce equilibrium; counterpoise.

So, I know what balance is...how do I go about getting there? I'm always looking for what's over the next hill...in other words, when I get past this (beit a deadline, the end of the school year, whatever)...then I'll have time to breathe, recompose, take some time off...GUESS WHAT? That never happens. And life just seems to happen faster and faster, doesn't it?

Now this may sound like a big ole pity party-- really, its not...I am always grateful for each busy task I have to do-- because that means so much-- it means I have a family that needs me, it means I have work aplenty, it means I have church kids counting on me, it means that I'm needed and I have something to give...which is really a series of blessings.

I suppose all women struggle with these thoughts and feelings...what about you? I'd love to hear you thoughts on this subject?

All I want...is to find that balance. What a feeling of contentment that would be...ahhhh....

and speaking of -- I better get to packing kits...everyone is in bed and I have to go to work now!!

Saturday

Its Saturday-- man, I'm glad I'm in Arkansas...safe and sound for now. Saying some prayers for anyone down in the midst of Ike. Scary stuff. We're expecting some effects of Ike here too-- but nothing compared to the coastal area. I'm so thankful I live in a relatively safe place here at the foot of the Ozarks. I would never want to live anywhere else.

Sara and I are trying to figure out what to do with ourselves today -the boys are off doing their thing at the feedstore. I've got a few things on my to do list--> so I guess I'll start there...or not! LOL! I could start by picking up the 1000's of buttons Cash dumped out in my scrap room floor...yep, that would probably be a good idea.

Just wanted to share the latest peek from Got Sketch 102-- having a great time with this group! Valerie provided us with #4 and it features 7 photos...YES, I said SEVEN!

I am fixin' to go into the gallery and check out the latest...there are literally HUNDREDS of inpsirational layouts from the first four sketches! Is that AMAZING OR WHAT??

Well, I better start tackling a few chores around here....here's to a safe and fun weekend for all!

naptime=worktime

Little man just laid down for a snooze and I've got a dozen things to check off my list in the next couple of hours...first, I wanted to share this:

Not just any old yummy cup-a-joe-- an INSPIRING CUP of the YUM STUFF!! IU friends-- get yourself a tee or a mug at our Cafe Press Shop! FUN STUFF! I'm loving my new cup! I designed the logo--simple but cute! Notice that little crown? Thats a Teresa Collins design...from her papers-- COOL HUH!? We're SO excited that we have met our goal with our event...lucky for you--that doesn't mean you can't still sign up! There is still a bit of room to squeeze more crafty peeps in! If you're on the fence--let us know if you have any questions-- we'd be glad to answer :)

I'm looking SO forward to this trip out to Nevada-- I get to spend a few days with some of my very favorite people! ...Including an old friend who's coming too--from Cali. I'm so happy! I have so much to do I don't have time to turn around and its gonna be here! I'm so grateful for each and every one of y'all that signed on for this event--thanks so much!!

FUN STUFF-- I pulled it out with sketch #3 ...a totally GIRLY sample layout for a fresh new sketch! The fun part is...there are literally HUNDREDS of other ideas in our student gallery to draw inspiration from too! Its truly amazing!

remember the other day when I mentioned being covered in glitter (at least I think I did?) --well, here's what I was working on:

check out the details of these cards over at the Fiskars site. I used the new Lil Davis baby stamps to create these card designs. Love that sweet little elephant :)

scrappy & stitchy stuff...

Here we are almost through another week! Oh My! I have lots to share. First, on the GS102 front-- the second sketch project went up today. Here's a peek:

Amazing work by Valerie...as usual! We've had a few people ask whether or not you can still join in this workshop! OF COURSE!! You can join in at any time. There are already hundreds of layouts posted in the gallery by the members...its a flood of inspiration! Amazing!

Gotta share a peek of something I did a couple weeks ago...in a sewing frenzy!!

Lots going on today!

Well today kicked of day one of Got Sketch 102! WOW! We released our first project and well, don't tell-- but I wanted to give you all a little peek!

If you still haven't checked it out...GO HERE to read up on all the details for our class!

If you're familiar with the Got Sketch? blog-- you'll know Valerie's sketches are very detailed. I think thats awesome because lots of folks comment to us that they need tips on placement for embellishments...our sketches solve that problem--of course elements are interchangeable, but you don't have to wonder where to add elements to balance a layout.

Speaking of Got Sketch? --I had the opportunity of being a guest sketch artist for the blog...check it out! SKETCH #68--I have to say the gals who were featured designers KICK SOME MAJOR BOOTY!!

Lets see-- oh, I gotta show you Cash's haircut...
