Goodness gracious..here we go with another week! Hang on tight...it's gonna be a fast ride (as usual, right ;) Lots of stuff going on in my little neck of the woods...so many things on my to do list! And lots on my "WANT" to do list. I'm currently wanting to spend some time playing with my new friend...Gertie. Meet Gertie...
She's a 1947 Singer 66 model. Folks...they don't make em like this anymore :) Even if I didn't ever sew a stitch...just admiring the beauty and craftsmanship of a piece like this is worth the money! But guess what...she sews like nobody's business!!! WHOO HOOOO! When I mentioned needing a machine for some heavy duty sewing -- Scott suggested I go this route (purchase an oldie) rather than a new machine. I agreed and he found this one. It's dreamy. :) He bought it for me and that makes her even more special. She's perched in my Mother in Law's sewing machine cabinet...priceless.
I had a great trip to Virgina week before last...I only have phone pictures because honestly, I was just way to lazy to drag along my big camera (Gussie-- yes, I like to name things). Plus, she's getting older and I worry about her traveling far. :) In between and after teaching, we (Angie and me) even had time to visit a few local sites and make a run for Virginia Beach. It was fun, but as always...I feel guilty and wish the family were able to be there too. They would have had a BLAST. Virginia Beach is a great family get away.
(bad phone pic, sorry)
The Memories Galore event was first class all the way! WOW! It was truly the swankiest event I've been to...right down to cushy executive chairs and scrumptious meals. Nice big table area to crop and it was held at what once was a privately owned executive retreat/estate. WOW. It's now the Wyndam Virginia Crossing Resort...very nice. I was so impressed with this event. I had a great time and met some very nice ladies. Thanks for having me Angela and Michelle!
(I want the white house there in the middle of this pic...what a dream!)
(see, I told you it was family friendly!)
(we visited a plantation-- the Berkeley Plantation...so much history in this part of the country! We really enjoyed it)
