Necklace winner!!!

These things are hard because how I wish everyone of you could have this necklace, or a version of it...and I so appreciate the encouragement and comments more than you will ever know!  With every email of a new comment, I just got the warm fuzzies and it helped me to know that I wasn't the only one who thought these necklaces were pretty and cute :)  A big thank you to all who visited the blog and left your two cents, your thoughts and your encouragement...it means more than you know.  I headed over to Random.org to generate the random winner...and who should it be?  I'm so happy to give this necklace to you, Ginger :)

Pillow Talk...

Oh my goodness...I'm a blogging maniac!  I LOVE IT!

 

Y'all know how much I love scallops right?  Well, check out this project that I designed over at the Fiskars site and I'll show you how you can use a handy dandy circle cutter to add scallops to this romantic styled pillow cover!  Freshen up your decor with some sassy new pillows -- and it takes just a couple of yards of fabric per pillow!  You will love this project!  I promise...it will make you WANT to make your bed! ;)

Feeling Lucky???

Oh my goodness!  I'm feeling so very blessed and generous this morning!!!  I'm wearing my new dark gray $10 t-shirt (gotta love Old Navy :) which looks like a million bucks (to me anyway:) with my cute new vintage-hip bib necklace.  You know, part of the fun and fabulous-ness of crafting, designing (and dreaming up) stuff is getting to name it, dream of the possibilities and potential that your little old handmade crafty-ness could be. Immediately, when I made these roses for my necklace design, I thought "Country Roses," I am a bona fide country gal after all.   But of course the dark metals and classic pearls give it more of a chic, urban appeal...so is born....

 

Now many of you have asked about purchasing these...and I blush :) and thank you so dearly for each encouraging comment and email.  That is, after all, the direction I'm heading :)  However, I'm not there yet.  I have a lot of preparations before I'm quite ready for that.  Though it wouldn't be fair if I was the only girl who had the pleasure of wearing one of these chic necklaces, now would it?  :)

Mama taught me to share and the Lord has blessed me with giving spirit...honestly, my Dad better watch it because I would totally give away the farm!  LOL!  Anyway...I thought I'd do a little WIN IT BEFORE YOU CAN BUY IT drawing!!!  Wanna play?  That's right!  I'm giving away the necklace that is picture above!

Monday, Monday...NO WAIT! It's Tuesday!

LOL!  This Labor Day thing has me totally off today!  Yes, it is TUESDAY I keep saying to myself.  I've got dinner cooking and I just had to sneak into the office to send my sister some new pics and share a quick blog!  My sister recently moved about 2 hr away and I miss her so much :(  She is in college at UCA and she is awesome!  Going to be an O.T.-- we are SO proud of her!  So anyway, I've been making some jewelry in my creative hiatus from paper!  And I'm loving every single moment of it!!!  Here's on I made...

(self portrait phone pic to show a friend) Now this was the first one I made...I've been wanting to try some funky, vintage flowers like this for SO SO SO long...and I really didn't know what I was doing (insert creativity and a lot of stitches) and I just LOVE LOVE LOVE my new chunky-hip-vintage necklace!!!   I call them Country Roses.  So I've made a few more for my open house later...and I made this...for Jenny :)  She wanted pink...

 

...and I tried a little bit different technique on the roses with this one..."Tattered Roses"  Again, chunky, hip, vintage...goes with EVERYTHING!  I can't wait to send this to Jenny!!!

Speaking of vintage...check out Cash's new shoes.  I cracked up when I saw these...

 

Totally throwbacks...my first pair of Nikes were this style only canvas with a blue stripe.  I'll never forget.  Cash looks awesome in these.  Look how cute he is...posing with Mack:

Hmm...what else...still trying to get my new space in some kind of order.  Scott was in hone-do mode yesterday :)  He did some painting.  YAY!  Lots more to do...

What a glorious day!!!

Folks...let me tell you.  I really hate to admit that my hubby is right about stuff...but hold the phone, that is exactly what I'm going to do right now, for the record...admit it.  (man, I love him :) swoon.  He was right.

The argument...er I mean "discussion"
ME:  if I kept our house CLEAN (+laundry, cooking, etc...)...it would take me 6-8 hours a day so how can I manage work stuff, housework, kids, and have any sort of quality of life!?!
HIM: It would only take a couple of hours a day if you would ever get it clean and then maintain it.
ME: NO WAY.
HIM: You're nuts...try it :)
(oh by the way...this is a totally domesticated man...the only chore he won't help out with is laundry)

So...I did.  In the last week, I have cleaned, I have laundered, I have scrubbed (okay, maybe not too much scrubbing), I have killed my vacuum (literally--it quit today) and tried to whip this pig sty into shape.  It looks pretty good, if I do say.  It's probably like a 7.75 on the clean factor scale where it's usually a 2.5.  LOL!

And, he's right.  Maintenance doesn't require quite 6-8 hours a day once you get the brunt of the work done.  Okay.  I admitted it.  Moving on....

Me and the little man are having so much fun now that I have purposed to be a better Mama and wife and well, housekeeper!  LOL!  With the girls back in school, rather than me=nose to grindstone all day, I've created somewhat of a schedule that works in both mine and Cash's favor.  We do some housework and something fun in the a.m. time-- visit friends, story time at the library, Moms Day out once a week, park, run errands, etc...and then he is down for a nap by 12:30 or 1:00...which leaves me a couple of hours to work on stuff before the girls are done with school.  It's working quite famously.  I'm a little scared at how productive I have been. :o  And most of all...I'm smelling the roses, so to speak.

I got the bestest, most wonderful, Fiskar-fabulous news today from my gal, Steph.  ...which made my day the most glorious, blessed day!!!  Oh. My. Goodness.  You Inspiration Unlimited gals are in for a TREATY-TREAT-TREAT!!!  It's beyond my wildest dreams.  Good stuff  Can't wait to tell y'all!

It was a project for SUMMER SCHOOL over at Fiskars!  For you seamstresses (even beginners can give it a whirl, it's not too hard!), you can check this out and follow my tutorial to make your own canvas bins.  These are sized to perfectly accomodate those long sticker sheets (you know, the 6" x 12" ones that never fit anywhere)...perfect!!!  This project rocks my world...in fact, I have seriously considered making these to sell...custom scrapbook storage!  See the ones I made with some uber cool fabrics...

I sew love to sew.  (pun intended ;) LOL!

This was my last month doing Scarlet Lime...so sad, but happy to have a little more time to invest in my new ideas and new ventures.  Here's a couple of my SL layouts...the girls on the first day of school...

So, I'm knee deep in preparations for IU...working on handouts, making 140+ handmade flowers for my layout class...yes, I said it!!!  You know I love you gals, right?!!?  LOL!  Will start kitting next week and be in a sea of scrumptious sb supplies...Teresa Collins designs, SEI, Cosmo Cricket, and My Minds Eye...yum!  Here's a peek at the stamping class I've created with some fabulous Fiskars stamps...
