Free For all Friday: Printable Teacher Card and Tag

School is letting out soon!  Need a quick teacher thank you card to pair with a gift for the end of the year?  Well, here you are!  I've created a round cut out card and two tags on this printable page...easy as "apple" pie!  Hint, when cutting out the card, cut just INSIDE the black line.  Simply punch the tags out with a 2" circle punch.  You could also cut them out with scallop paper scissors too!

 

(I put the thank you tag on my TREAT SACK from the Pretty Packages kit)

 

Add the card to a kraft gift bag with a little ribbon for a fun gift package!

Flower Love at Oopsey Daisy & Erin B's flower video

Just wanted to share this CUTE blog--- (where coincidentally she shared a tute of mine :) where there are DOZENS of ideas on making FLOWERS!!!  Three dozen to be exact.  Y'all know I love me some flowers (bad grammar yes :)!!!  Hop over there and check it out!  Blooming goodness I tell ya!

BRIGHT AND BOLD! I caught Abby before school the other day and snapped these pics.  This summer I truly want to put something on my living room walls (after living here 3 years!)...photos of the kids to be more specific.  So I wanted to catch them in some shots to have some "fresh" material.  Anyway...of course I was excited to scrapbook these pics also.
 
I am feeling like my pages are all LOOKING the same.  Hmmm?  Next week...I feel a scraplift coming on.  Or maybe a sketch?   I guess that is what happens when you get lots of pages done...you see the parallel in your style and designs. Anyway...I do love the page...definitely out of my box here using SUPER DUPER BOLD GORGEOUS papers by Bo Bunny...wow!  They are SCRUMPTIOUS and perfect for my photos, I think.  Love how the blue top and ABBY really stand out against the papers, yet the pops of blue accent make it totally work!  YUMMY!

My challenge for you this week: SUPER BOLD.  Just do it.

16th page! 52 week SFSB challenge!

 

Coming in on time this week!  YAY! I'm so happy with this page.  Took me a little longer today...I played with my Big Shot (check out the squiggly border on the right side)...used this fun die!!!  Used lots of Little Yellow Bicycle Fresh Print Clothesline to create this page!  oohh la la!!!!  Just perfect for these pics of my Sara...who is growing way too fast, I might add!  I've wanted to use some cute doilies on a page for a while now...and the Clothesline collection has THOSE too!!! 

Lots of texture...mmmm.  Sweet. The blue paper is totally visual texture, the lace border texture, the doily texture, the green swirly...all just add to the interest and overall finished touchable texture of the layout.

I just realized I forgot to add any info/journaling to this page!  LOL!  I'll be adding a few notes below the photos on the right!  ooops!

My challenge for you this week: LOTS OF TEXTURE...doesn't mean lots of bulk...think VISUAL texture: find some NEW ways to add texture.

in control?

Seldom does it happen, but occasionally, I feel like I've got a handle on life.  Today...I feel that way.  Oh, there are things that need to be done...the to do list is long as usual :)--laundry, work outside, baking for the upcoming Relay for Life Friday, general housework, need to catch up the checkbook, etc...but overall I feel a sort of calm.  Hope it's not the one before the storm!?

I got in high gear last week and started working on my dieting too.  Feels good to be in CONTROL of this too.  Honestly, I'm really doing a VERY low cal, crash diet balancing protein, fat and carbs. LOL!  --so not funny, but I want some results and we'll see what happens.  I've maintained my 28 lb. weight loss (within just about 5 lb) for about eight months.  I got complacent and just haven't taken it to the next level...I'm serious about it now.  Very.  In fact, it's DANG HARD!  But I'm seeing results, so I'm happy with that.  I still have 1 1/2 month to kick my brother in laws tail in our wager! 

Today, I'm going to get my house chores done and tidy up the Whimsy Shoppe --it's a HUGE mess of thread and fabric scraps after I shipped out lots of these last week!

This one is home with the sickies today...I'm betting she'll be miraculously better by noon or so :)  Pretty girl.

...Okay, some of you have noticed I ran out of week last week and I'm late posting this!  SORRY!  That's real life, right folks. Sometimes...we just have to do what we can do!  I did finish my page up before the week was out.  Actually..this is a page I started LAST YEAR!!!  And I finished it up! 

I am obsessed with silhouettes! I plan on doing some of my kids VERY SOON for framed wall art.  I love this tutorial that Amy posted explaining the process she used on PS Elements.  I actually used the (badly exposed) photo last year to create my silhouette in MUCH the same way Amy explains.  The shot was accidental...I was trying to get Cash's reaction to the snow outside since he was too small at the time to get out in it!  The backlighting/off exposure of course resulted in the photo I used on the page and inspired me to create the silhouette!  I printed the silhouette onto the back of my patterned paper and cut it out to include it on the page... I love it, especially the little curl!

My challenge for you this week: complete an unfinished project!  I am so happy to get this one done and share!  Go for it!

Crazy busy week! Been sewing like a mad woman! Will post my challenge layout later today, friends!

Cali trip & random stuff

I arrived in Fresno late Thursday night to greet my sweet friend Tammy and her husband, Monte!  I got to ride in their sUhWeEt new pickup --an 84 Chevy longbed and man, did that take me back!  My Dad had a blue one...same year model I think!  Smelled EXACTLY the same!  What a ride!

Being with Tammy and fam was like home away from home...though we did manage log several hours of meetings/work.  We also got to play on Friday...Tammy took me on a surprise journey to ANTHROPOLOGIE!!!!  I have been wanting to go to one of these stores for a long time and she took me for my birthday and got me a present!!!  I also got this Farmers Egg crate...which I LOVE

I thought it would be perfect to stock boiled eggs in (shells on) till I'm ready to use.  Everybody around here loves boiled eggs (with salt + pepper of course).  It's MY FAVORITE COLOR too.

I also got these...for just $1.95 EACH OMG!!!  (still have 'em online...check the link) They are so adorable.  In Thyme, Chili, Curry, Basil and Oregano.  Look so adorable in my kitchen window.

It was very fun!  We also had sewing lessons as I enabled Tammy to stop and buy a sewing machine and we played with it a lot!

But at last I was glad to get back home.  I missed mine so much. 

Yesterday, I had to finish my taxes!!!  Among working on orders and getting back into the swing of things.  I did have to make a creative tangent and do something to fuel me on.  Call it procrastinating a bit...but nonetheless, I had to :)

 

I tidied the house back up and moved around some pictures...I do that every once in a while.  I like to rearrange the furniture too...yes, I'm one of those.  Anyway, I've had this project (the frame) in motion for a few weeks...I wanted to frame a number five...you know, representative of our household # and sort of a lift on the House of 3 idea...only different.  Just for a cool, personal home dec thing.  I'll share more on this later. 

So...California was great and seeing Tammy and her family was awesome!  But there's just no place like home...good ole' southern sunset from the back.
