Found this cute shot on my camera...Aunt Jenny must have snapped it!  It was like finding a $1 in the laundry or in a coat pocket!  Such a fun surprise!

and he's an awesome cutter...(he gets that from me ;)

and later this day he went deer hunting with Daddy.  And the next day...they killed a deer together.

Here's something interesting...

I'm working on a mosaic of Abe Lincoln for my 2-Design class and I had to cut 832 (yes, EIGHT HUNDRED AND THIRTY TWO) 1/2 inch squares to complete the mosaic, which by the way is still NOT complete and I really want to burn it.  Mr. Teacher suggests that it is un-artsy to use anything other than rubber cement.  Although I do love said teacher because he also encourages us to use our "creative license" and our "resources" and possibly even "cheat" but not in a dishonest way.  Like using a paper trimmer rather than an exacto knife.  That kind of "cheating."  LOL!!  I call it work smarter not harder ;)  You know what I say to rubber cement...YUCK!!!!  I hate it!  Don't these educated people know about fancy schmancy paper trimmers and tape runners!?!  I'll have to teach them a thing or two ;)

What self respecting scrapbooker uses rubber cement?  Come on!!! 

Let me tell you...it hurts.  Bad. (and it stinks too!)

So I after my day...and after supper, clean up, returning from Sara's bb practice...I got home and cut some more paper.  Pretty paper.  Bella Blvd. and Teresa Collins paper (for a BHG assignment :). 

Ahhhhh. 

Now that

feels

good.

I also accomplished two additional tasks today...I cleaned my kitchen window and one of the ovens!!!  Around here, trust me, these days that is a BIG DEAL...talk about brownie points with the hubby!!!  He came in smiling big when he saw that shiny window and my clean oven!  LOL! Maybe I'll get the other one done before the year is out :)

Long time no "see"

I told someone earlier I had been "so busy and so lazy!"  I laughed to myself after I typed that...such an oxymoron but oh-so-true. What I meant was...each week is basically a whirlwind from dawn till dusk...I'm sure all of you can relate.  And when it comes to the weekend or time I have away from school, cooking, cleaning, laundry and chauferring kids.  I just want to be lazy!  I can't seem to get motivated to work on any extracurricular projects...even though I have so many things I want to do!!!

Today.

5:30 got up

-drop kids at school

-drop Cash at sitter

-go to school (five hours of class on MW and six hours on T/TR--Friday is a lighter day)

-go pick up some groceries on my hour break from class

-drink a yogurt smoothie (or two ;) that I bought at the store for lunch

-had leave class early to pick up girls early (school lets out for parent-teacher conferences)

-home by 2:00 {an early day, so refreshing!!!!}

-made new, BIG batches of homemade laundry soap and dishwashing detergent.

-made chicken and dressing casserole for dinner

-worked on a little logo side job while cooking

-ate dinner and took off for Abby's parent teacher conference

-took Abby to church : ( skipped out on church because I had assignments I had to work on --school and scrapbooking)

-came home to work...BHG assignment and homework

-so tired.  But I felt very productive today.

C'est La Vie...right, friends :)

So are you wondering about the butterflies up top?  Well, I don't think I've shared yet.  But that was my very first project from my Digital Imaging class at school!  I loved that project.  It is a LP album cover!  I see that morphing into other things in the future...we'll see ;)  Did I mention I had all A's at midterm!  YAY!!!

So I said all that to say this...

whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhh!!!  I miss being able to create!!! {insert big pouty face} LOL!  Nah...I'm really not throwing a kicking screaming fit, I promise.  But I've definitely had to put a lot of things on the back burner for now. 

But I did get excited...earlier.  I got an email from a local friend and it looks like I might be teaching a class in December! Yes, I will!  (just confirmed) About an hour from here...and that gets my creative juices flowing!  Hmmm....

So I guess it's just one day at a time for me.

Homework

Tonight I've been painting on a figure/ground design exercise...quite therapeutic I must say. The finished product will be all black and white. So far I've got the white complete. Whew! Can you see some of the elements that make up the image?

School project

Just thought I'd test out a mobile post...sharing this "one line" fish drawing I did for digital imaging class. Interesting project. The drawing is ONE continually line, never crosses. We had to do fish...I liked this one since Scott is a big bass fisher, you know? These are examples I drew from and my pencil rough...I'll post the final product later. It's done just can't access from phone.

Saturday...Monday...days of my life :)

Saturday...we got crafty!  The kids wanted to make fall and Halloween decorations--so the table exploded with goodies!  We made a cute "spooky" banner together! 

This weekend was pretty much do nothing.  Ahhh...haven't had one of those in A VERY LONG TIME!   Wow!  The weather is absolutely perfect.  That crisp chill in the air.  Trees just starting to turn.  Love it. Woke up Saturday morning to the windows raised and the clatter of all the bikes down in town headed up the hill for Bikes Blues and BBQ in Fayetteville.  They all pit stop in Alma. 

I should totally be doing homework right now...but I've been feeling very disconnected...unplugged.  I had to get on the puter to check up on my little sis through Facebook, and well, you know how that goes!  I thought maybe since I don't have a lot of time to blog...maybe I can blog from my phone more?  Hmm?  Well, it might be interesting...to document my school progress here?  To look back on one day?  Maybe?

School is super busy.  Coming up on mid terms and who knew...art teachers really don't hand out grades until then!  LOL!  The only grades I have are in Speech and Algebra...A's -- I'll take 'em!  As for drawing, digi design and 2D design, who knows?  I don't think A's come easy in these classes.  I should have a grade after midterm I guess?  I can't believe its already time to schedule classes for the spring semester!  I meet with my advisor next week to do that!  WOW!  Already nearly half way through this round!  I guess the good thing about going back in your thirties is that time just goes by like 3 times as fast as when you are 18 or 20...before you know it you've graduated (and turned 40 ;) LOL!!!  Thats okay-- I'll take 40 if it means I've graduated!

I'll have to post later about IU and other stuff.  IU was so awesome...what a time!  Miss my new friends, old friends...my heart swells when I think about 'em!  Maybe I can get caught up on emails while I'm procratinating my homework!
