Where's the off switch? Between my fun little job, the class I'm doing this summer and the kids and a few creative binges--well, there's just not enough time in the day :0 Stayed up late last night filling a couple of Etsy orders and then up at 5:30 to get to the peach orchard :) LOVE going to pick fresh peaches!!! And eating myself silly on peaches for about a week after!

It's super di-duper hot here in Arkansas. Weve been breaking records and have gone nearly a month without rain. Thru it I'm proud to say I've kept up my walking and so excited that I just joined a local fitness place called Core Fitness. I'm gonna try some classes in conjunction with my walking/jogging and try burn through a few pounds. I'll be starting tomorrow ;). Back on walking--Too funny my route of choice is about 3+ miles and takes me down the hill to Scott's shop. Is it wrong if I take his truck and drive myself back? Lol!!

My job is very fun and its a great opportunity to be creative too! My boss and co-workers are all creative and we all seem have a unique gift that lends to the store. I've really enjoyed having a little something to offer-- we've been designing tees and tote bags and this afternoon I've been sewing tote bags!

(Blogging via iPhone so all the pics will be lumped together.) I did a cute shirt to match a hat we have in the store for a little guy's birthday attire. I spent this afternoon/evening perfecting mass production mode of sewing the personalized tote bags we'll be offering soon...so far I have a teacher and owl. Really, who can resist ruffles!?

The Tweaker Strikes Again!

"tweaker" - name my pal Donna used to refer to me as.  Quite frankly I wonder what kind of designer I'll ever end of being because it just feels like there's always room for improvement?  Therefore I could potentially work on a project forever.  Thank goodness for deadlines!

I just posted the above into Etsy.  I'm just gradually posting fun thing designs in Etsy-- as I do them or as I get the ads formatted.  Not necessarily because I intend on selling a truck load...mostly because its fun to play store, right?!  LOL!  I did get the scallop idea perfected between computer + design cutter and I decided I just didn't like yesterday's version.  So I took it down and I'll "tweak" some more.  Today I love.

I'm pretty pumped about my walking...over 6 miles in the last two days.  I'll hit the road again tomorrow to try to get another 3 or 3 1/2.  I'd like to see 11 or 12 miles this week again!  I am SO loving the mapmyrun app for the iPhone...so great for tracking progress, distance speed.  It's made such a difference for me.  Gosh...its really amazing how great exercising makes me feel.  I really hope that I can get some of this poundage off and see that sweet ### on the scale before the summer is out.  I'm even thinking about going again tonight...after my dinner settles ;)

We've had a fun couple of weeks...sweet friend Tammy came to stay and it was a hoot!  Kiddos swam and played and Tammy and I dreamed up all kinds of adventures!  We've been to the Janet Huckabee Nature Center twice in the last week!   Very neat place to visit.  The staff and interns are awesome too.  Lots to do...the kids shot BB guns, we've went canoeing, we saw them feed the snakes and turtles, and even went fishing...though I think there's only 2 tiny fish and a few turtles in the lake there!  LOL!  All in all, it is a REALLY neat place.  If you're local definitely check it out.  Its nice and cool inside too ;)

Creative Hiatus!

So I had this idea...involving an invitation design and my Cricut....and well, it worked!  I just added this invitation design to my Etsy --it's rather simple, but classy and chic I think too!  I'm just abuzz with ideas.  Not rocket science, but so many thoughts, ideas and inspirations right now.  So many possibilities.  But mostly, I'm just having fun making some goodies for birthday gifts and stuff. So many other things I need to be doing...but I just love bring ideas to life and seeing what happens!  More to come...

For now...I have GOT to go to bed!

Still in my workout clothes...yuck.  But I had to write down what I was thinking.

Excercise does my body SO good.  Even if I didn't lose a pound...it ministers to my mind, my body and my spirtuality.  Its just for me.  Its one of the only things in life that is just that...a me thing.  So good. {Insert warning--this is going to be a totally self absorbed post! LOL!!  This is just personally speaking.}  I was thinking as I was walking this morning...about the number three.  I think about it alot.  About how it pertains to me, of course it has religious connotations as well..which also pertains to me.

I was thinking about three things I've accomplished...thinking about where you've come from can SO inspire you to keep going...going...

I'm a dreamer...here's three dreams that have come true.

1. I've had the honor and privelege to work with some of the finest folks in the paper craft industry.  Wow.  Many of them have blessed me in so many ways.

2. I've been given a huge blessing and have went back to school. I just got some great news about this on Friday-- and well, it was HUGE!  I feel like God is saying...yes, you are going in the right direction :)

3. I've lost and kept off about 30 lb in the last two years. 

Three things/people that inspire/d me...

1. My Dad.  A couple of years ago...his blood pressure was crazy and it was scary.  It was what made me get serious about losing weight.  (btw he is a lot better now)

2. Prayer.  I pray about everything.  Mostly that God leads me and I follow...down the right path.  I even pray about being fit...because I think God wants us to be healthy...its important to take care of our family, chase kids, etc. 

3. Old ways.  I like the old ways. 

Like I said...I'm a dreamer...here's three things I want to be able to say I've done in another three years.

1. I want to hold a college degree in my hands.

2. I want to LOSE that other thirty pounds :|

3. I want to be stronger, fitter and healthier than ever when I meet 40.

Three things that I know.

1. Life's WAY too short.  Enjoy it.

2. Being a mama is the hardest job in life...next to being a daddy ;)

3. There's no sense in letting other people make you unhappy.  YOU are in control of your own happiness...except of course, when your hormones are OUT OF CONTROL...then, well-- you're definitely not ;) LOL!

Three things I constantly struggle with:

1. Time management.

2. Trying to walk the line as a Christian.

3. Trying to be a good mother.

Three things I'm so thankful for:

1. Gifts.  God gives us all a gift...I'm sure of it.  I'm thankful for mine and just want to be able to use them for his will.

2. My health.  My family's health.  I'm so thankful that I can go out and walk two miles.  I know that in and of itself is a blessing.

3. That I don't have to make a long drawn out complicated plan for my life...its already done.

 

And thats all I have to say...just writing it down...it was floating in my head.

Blog is a work in progress right now :) Making some changes...today is going to be a great day. Thankful for Sara helping me out big time today...to do something that I cannot do myself. Closing a chapter.

Do you see what I've changed added? I'm trying to simplify. Maintaining two blogs -- not necessary. My shoppe is going to morph into an Etsy shoppe. Fun! Already things available there that are BRAND NEW ----> over there! Do you see!

Inspired by my beautiful sister, much of my new goodies. Love you Jenny.

Inspiration, pickles and other randomness

Well, first of all today is my baby sister's 27th birthday.  My...what happened! She grew up!!!  HAPPY BIRTHDAY my dear sweet little sister...you've grown into a woman I admire so much.  I love you!!!

So Jenny's sweet little birthday has inspired me to make all kinds of pretty things.  I posted some pics yesterday I think of new cards that have been a result.  FUN!!!  I'm hitting on all the birthdays in July with these!  Having fun myself writing notes to folks.  It does a person good to get a handwritten note these days...its like whoa!!!  A real letter!!!  In MY mailbox?  My Aunt was just telling me the other day when she got her mail that she almost dismissed the card I sent her for one of those direct mail companies that try to trick you by using "real" looking handwriting...of course, upon closer inspection she realized it was from me :)  hee hee!

Scott has been pickling like a crazy man!  Between our garden and my Dad's bounty of cukes -he has quite a stash of the mouth puckering dill pickles.  Yum!  I think he needs a cute label for the top of these, don't you?  See...more inspiration!!!

Its only 7:19 a.m., I got up with the rooster (Scott) and had my coffee, watered my flowers and felt like blogging...or writing.  Isn't blogging wild?  I've enjoyed seeing friends and acquaintences find much success by simply blogging like crazy!  Of course-- they definitely have a gift, talent to share.  I never intended to find success as a blogger, but it certainly interests me in the way that it all works.  I always thought it as a forum to share...not that folks want to know that much about me particularly...but when I get fun ideas I've always loved to share those ideas.  Let other people feel my joy and maybe it can bring them some joy too!  In years past, it was mostly in the arena of scrapbooking, of course.  Nowadays...I don't have the motivation to scrapbook much...I'm not really sure what category my blog falls into now.  Just your average randomness, I guess!  LOL!  But seriously,  I just feel like I'm in this in between stage...transitioning.  I feel impatient.  Going to school is awesome...but sometimes frustrating...because there are so many possible outcomes and I just have to be patient and faithful.

I do feel very fortunate that my schedule is not packed so tightly this summer-- just working a few days a week at Inscriptions and doing one class.  So I have had time to think about the direction I'm going in with my online adventures...the truth is most entrepreneurers and businesses almost HAVE to have an online presence in some way to grow. 

Well, I must get out and get my walk in before the temp gets cooking!  Hopefully I'll have pickle jar labels to share soon :)

Well, last week was a super duper busy one and culminated in a fun time last night watching the city fireworks show from our back yard!  It was awesome and I didn't take one good picture!  LOL!  But I just sat and enjoyed it...thats worth something, right!  We gathered with good food, a few good friends and a had a great time. I must admit...I've been waiting it out for today..looking forward to a little R&R.  Or at least some time to do something I wanted...or nothing at all. 

The girls had fun face painting last night and it turned out to be a fun idea!  Here's Cash with his "flame job!"  LOL!

Rather than being too lazy, I ended up doing something today...of course!  Scott has been pickling everything that will fit into a Mason jar!!!  LOL!  We both decided it should just be a lazy day to just do what we want...I even toyed with the idea of doing some yardwork and HE of all people talked me out of it.  Probably should be working on my Algebra, but just as any true procrastinator would...I came up with something much more pressing.  I worked on making some birthday gifts for a few friends and family.  I've been printing up a storm!!!  These...

I just love them!  Hope some people don't see this post-- :)  You can grab some for yourself or a friend too...they are now available in my shoppe.
